Our Process
01.
I am a Boutique Photographer
I take your hand through the whole process of discovering the kind of images my client is looking for, providing you with wardrobe tips, all the way to creating archival quality Canadian produced wall art for your home to enjoy for years.
All the stress of figuring out what to do once you have the images is taken care of by the professionals.
All you need to do is show up for your photo experience and we take care of the rest.
02.
In person Consultation
Meeting you before scheduling a session helps us both to learn what kind of images you are looking for. Contact forms can be helpful but I am a people person and love in-person.
03.
You will receive photo session specifics and helpful tips.
This could include on-location map and directions, wardrobe suggestions, preparing your family or pets, and more.
Customized to your needs.
04.
Selecting your favorite images and how to display them.
This is the exciting meet up where you can see the full presentation of your best images. You and your photographer will select which images are best displayed in what format; framed, canvas wrapped, art prints and albums.
FAQS ABOUT THE PROCESS
What can I expect when I send you my contact form?
I will respond within 24 hours. This first contact will give us a chance to get to know each other a little bit and then find a convenient time to meet in person for a consultation.
How long does it take to receive the proofs of my photos after my session?
Within two weeks of your photo session you will be contacted for a date to see your professionally presented video of images in order to select your top choices.
This is always a very exciting time!
how will my images be delivered?
As your Boutique Photographer, the final artwork will be delivered to your home personally.
Could we include our dog in the photos?
Yes! We are absolutely pet friendly. Let's talk about how to best include your furry friend.
What if we want something more adventurous (hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, etc)?
These are always exciting sessions that involve a conversation with detailed plans and timelines and best done over a cup of coffee.
PLANNING FOR MY PHOTO SESSION
How should we dress for our family session?
The most important thing is to be comfortable and feel beautiful in what you are wearing. That said, there are a couple things to keep in mind so that you look your best.
1. Start with mom's or woman's wardrobe and work the rest of the family/group to compliment those colours.
2. Choose a couple main solid colours.
3. Primary colours and strong patterns can deflect attention away from your family photos. Stripes can negatively affect the image clarity.
4. I'd be happy to send you wardrobe colour combination ideas to get you started.
How old should my newborn be for the photo session?
In the first 10 days of your baby's life, they tend to be more sleepy and are therefore more settled during the time photos are taken.
As always, babies are their own little people and have differing personalities. Awake or asleep, I will capture those sweet little smiles, tiny fingers, toes, and button noses that you will marvel at over the years.
BOOK YOUR NEWBORN SESSION AS SOON AS YOU CAN
to ensure there is a session waiting for you once your baby arrives.
What’s the best time of day to have a session with a newborn?
You know your baby's schedule, so pick a time when they are most settled. Here are some tips. Ensure your little bean has just woken from a nap, has nursed well, and has a new diaper. Arrive 10 minutes early in case another change is needed upon arrival. More detailed information will be provided via email at the time of booking your session. All moms and dads are a bit nervous - don't worry. I am a relaxed and calming influence. This is your time to enjoy.
